ACTIVITIES

Centre for Social Policy Initiatives monitors the implementation of the rights of the child in Croatia.

As a part of the Coordination of NGOs working with children, CSPI is monitoring the implementation of the National Plan of Activities for the Protection of Rights and Interests of Children 2006-2012.

CSPI coordinated the development of the Second Complementary Report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, and it is actively involved in the preparation of the Third Report.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

• Plan of activities for the monitoring of the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, within the network of non-governmental organisations (2001)
• Field research about the non-governmental sector dealing with children's and children's rights issues, and the identification of the possibilities for networking (publication - Directory of NGOs concerned with Children's Rights in Croatia) (2000/2001)
• The development of the social and legal criteria for the monitoring of implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (with special emphasis on art. 12) - applied research as a methodolgical approach to monitoring. The research was implemented in cooperation with the University of Zagreb (Faculty of Law, Faculty of Philosophy - Department of Psychology, Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation) and published with the title Monitoring children's right to express his/ her own views freely in the process of the divorce of his/ her parents (1999-2001)
